Date: 14 May 2026
Prepared For: Field Agents assigned by Handler authority
Area of Operations: Dunridge, West Sussex, England
Status: ACTIVE
At 04:35 this morning, Sussex Police responded to a reported break-in and suspected homicide at Miller & Son Funeral Services, a mortuary and funeral parlour in the village of Dunridge, a small coastal settlement approximately eight miles west of Worthing.
Responding officers discovered the proprietor, Mr. Peter Miller, age 61, deceased on the preparation room floor. Initial reports indicate severe blunt-force trauma to the head and neck, though the scene contains inconsistencies not yet explained by local police. Signs of forced entry were minimal. Blood was present in quantities inconsistent with the apparent wounds. Several refrigerated drawers had been opened.
One body is missing.
The missing deceased is identified as Dr. Adrian Vale, age 34, a plant geneticist employed by Southmarch Agritech, a nearby private research facility operating outside the village. Southmarch’s stated purpose is the development of genetically altered tobacco strains intended to improve cold tolerance, disease resistance, and commercial viability for cultivation in the United Kingdom.
Dr. Vale was pronounced dead yesterday following what was reported as an industrial accident at Southmarch. The body was transferred to Miller & Son pending post-mortem examination. Sometime between 22:10 and 03:50, the corpse disappeared.
You are being deployed because several details surrounding the death, removal of the body and the victim’s employer have triggered review thresholds.
